Spring: Two Landscapes, Three Figures
Sometimes a work of art is a fragment of the best from memory, but you must remember that sometimes this fragment is resurrected with the help of images, and becomes an indelible moment of life, the landscape, daily life, people and jokes, weather, and temperature become things that can be perceived.
The three people in the work, two of whom are familiar friends, one because of her standing posture, are recorded, two Chinese friends, one Mexican, two men and one woman. The scenery is Finland and Venice, similar to the record of travel.
The works are preserved through digital photography, and their material transformation is completed through rice paper printing and hand-coloring. I want these low-resolution images to be magnified to the maximum extent possible, just as an insignificant individual perceives to be magnified.
Two of them are a bouquet of flowers in a glass, and depending on the way the color is tested, there are two styles, one is a little showy and the other is a little obscure.
Liao Wenfeng's work is called "A Void Intellectual", like the situation of many people, contemplating and thinking about it. The little flower is called "Wild Plants", which is a gift from Wenfeng's lover to me, and it is very small and quiet beauty from the streets of Berlin.
The portrait of the Nine Calls reappears in my work, a promotional shot I took for him before he left Berlin, hoping to capture the feeling of a nocturnal animal, a wild gaze.
"Spring: Two Landscapes, Three People" once again finds the moments of glitter from the subtle and trivial daily life, as well as the body movements and forms that people can transmit.
I would like to thank my friends Li Bing and Zheng Yunhan for their help with this project, and thank Sun Tong and Haihai for their continued support for me to "make some artworks".
